Lot 29: A Calor Gas Blue Painted Steel Butane Cylinder
A Calor Gas blue painted steel butane cylinder of squat cylindrical form. The vessel is constructed from heavy-gauge steel and features a protective top shroud surrounding a brass valve assembly with a manual control wheel. The body of the cylinder bears a white printed brand name reading ‘CALOR Gas’, beneath which is a block of instructional text including the legible phrase ‘…only to be filled by Calor Gas Ltd’. Various technical specifications and weight markings are stamped into the upper collar of the cylinder, though these are partially obscured by surface wear.
