Lot 446: A Collection of 1970s 7" Vinyl Singles and a Patterned Carrying Case
A collection of 1970s 7″ vinyl singles and a patterned carrying case, typical of mid-20th century portable record storage. The case is constructed with a rigid frame covered in a light grey Rexine-style vinyl, featuring a decorative printed pattern of diagonal stripes in black, red, and gold. It is fitted with a top-mounted black plastic handle and a chrome-effect metal flip-down latch, opening to reveal a black textured interior. The lot comprises approximately 40 to 50 vinyl singles (45 RPM), largely from the 1970s pop and rock eras. A visible highlight includes Elton John and Kiki Dee’s 1976 hit ‘Don’t Go Breaking My Heart’, housed in its original monochrome picture sleeve. The sleeve is printed with the vertical text ELTON JOHN & KIKI DEE. Other records are contained within generic white and company paper sleeves, some bearing handwritten inscriptions such as RIA 3 and others with the printed word stereo. No maker’s marks or manufacturer labels are visible on the case.
