Lot 470: A mid-20th-century parlor-style acoustic guitar, model G-101, with case and vintage strings
A parlor-style acoustic guitar featuring a light honey-finished top and a dark reddish-brown finish to the back, sides, and neck. The instrument is constructed with a dark wood fingerboard set with six dot inlays. The headstock is unbranded and fitted with three-on-a-plate open-gear tuners with cream-coloured plastic buttons. Hardware includes a black plastic pickguard secured with three screws, a rectangular wooden bridge, and a chrome-finished trapeze tailpiece. A rectangular paper label is visible through the soundhole with a decorative border, containing the printed text MODEL NO. followed by the stamped characters G-101. The guitar is accompanied by a black vinyl-covered, semi-rigid chipboard case with yellow contrast stitching and a black faux-fur interior. Also included is a vintage paper packet for Handcraft Strings, which features a circular central logo and text reading THE BEST STRING IN THE WORLD along with promotional descriptions regarding tonal purity.
