Lot 490: A Trio of Wedgwood Bone China Decorative Wares Including a 2003 Calendar Plate
This lot consists of three pieces of English bone china manufactured by Wedgwood. The collection includes a commemorative calendar plate, a shell-shaped dish, and a basket-handled bowl, all featuring transfer-printed decorations on a white ground.
The first item is a large circular presentation plate featuring a central calendar for the year 2003. The calendar is encircled by a broad border of seasonal flora, including daffodils for spring, irises and roses for summer, and holly for winter. The seasons Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter are printed within the inner border. The plate is accompanied by a blue card presentation box with a gold-tone printed mark reading W WEDGWOOD ENGLAND 1759.
The second item is a scallop shell-shaped dish with a moulded thumbpiece. It is decorated in the Clementine pattern, featuring a wreath of blue and purple flowers with green foliage. The base bears a brown printed mark consisting of an urn logo above the text WEDGWOOD Bone China MADE IN ENGLAND CLEMENTINE R4445.
The third item is an oval bowl with a scalloped rim and a central fixed handle moulded to resemble a twisted rope. The piece is decorated in the Cascade pattern with delicate scattered floral sprigs in shades of red and blue. The underside of the bowl features a brown printed mark with an urn logo above WEDGWOOD Bone China MADE IN ENGLAND CASCADE.
