Lot 493: A Collection of Decorative Glassware and a Butterfly Taxidermy Display

This lot comprises an assortment of decorative objects. Included are a pair of ruby red glass tumblers of tapered, rounded cylindrical form with clear glass bases. Each tumbler features a ground-out pontil mark to the underside. One tumbler bears faint incised characters near the base rim (photo 3) which are not legible. Also present is a miniature hand-blown art glass vase with a flared rim and bulbous body, featuring internal white and amber-coloured swirled decoration and a slightly textured exterior. A large, dark green glass sphere is also included. The collection is completed by a butterfly taxidermy display housed under a glass dome on a tiered square wooden base. The interior contains two butterfly specimens, the primary example being cream-coloured with brown wing markings, set amongst dried floral elements including pink roses and white gypsophila.
