Lot 508: A trio of silver-plated and bone table knife rests
A trio of table knife rests comprising a single all-metal example and a matched pair. The single knife rest features four-lobed terminals connected by a flat rectangular-section bar. The underside of the bar is impressed with the word STERLING in block capitals. The pair of knife rests features turned bone central shafts with silver-plated terminals. The ends are designed as six-pointed jacks with central spherical hubs. The bone shafts have a natural creamy-yellow patina. No hallmarks or maker marks are visible on the pair.
Length of sterling silver rest: 8.5 cm
Length of bone-handled pair: 10 cm.
