Lot 532: A Vintage Letter Opener and a Collection of Decorative Items
A desk-length letter opener featuring a tapered metal blade and a textured green handle with a simulated grain finish. The opener is presented in a maroon-coloured cardboard box with a white interior lining. Accompanying the opener is a small stained wood chest-form box with decorative metal straps, a wire handle to one side, and a simple latch. The chest contains a group of glass marbles, including one cobalt blue example and several amber-coloured cat’s-eye marbles with yellow and white internal swirls. Also included are two loose glass pieces: a translucent blue pebble-form cabochon and a circular amber glass cabochon containing a yellow four-petalled floral inclusion. No maker’s marks, hallmarks, or signatures are visible on any of the items.
