Lot 585: A Studio Pottery Rectangular Ceramic Platter with Celadon-Style Glaze and Linear Decoration
A shallow rectangular studio pottery platter constructed from a dark reddish-brown clay body. The interior and rim are finished in a thick, pale green celadon-style glaze. The piece is decorated with a hand-applied pattern of flowing, dark concentric lines that suggest a stylised wood grain or topographic effect. The tray features gently curved corners and a slightly raised rim. An impressed seal mark is located on the unglazed base. The mark contains two characters; the character on the left is legible as the uppercase letter R, while the character to the right is not clearly legible.
