Lot 588: A Small Hand-Painted Bisque Porcelain Figurine of an Elderly Woman
A small hollow-cast ceramic figurine depicting an elderly woman, possibly a flower seller or folk character. The figure is shown wearing a pale blue-grey dress and a white apron, with a yellow headscarf tied beneath her chin. She holds a small purple bouquet in her right hand. The figure stands on an integral, circular white base featuring a single scrolled line in gold to the front. The underside of the base shows two circular firing holes. In the centre of the underside is an irregular orange-coloured patch, which appears to be the residue of a torn adhesive paper label; no characters or symbols are legible within it. A small, stylized gold-coloured mark is present on the side of the base, consisting of an illegible single character or flourish.
