Buyer's Premium:

This lot comprises two earthenware teapots of differing styles. The first is a large, globular teapot with a domed lid and a scroll-moulded handle. It features an all-over transfer-printed floral pattern of pink, purple, and blue roses with green foliage against a cream ground. Attached to the handle is a circular adhesive tag with a central Union Jack design, bearing the printed name ARTHUR WOOD on the upper edge and PRICE AND KENSINGTON on the lower edge. The second item is a novelty figural teapot modelled as a standing elephant. The elephant’s trunk serves as the spout, a loop at the rear forms the handle, and the lid is topped with a small elephant-shaped finial. The body has a matte terracotta-coloured glaze, decorated with small floral sprays on the flanks and a geometric Greek key border around the base. No maker’s marks are visible on the elephant teapot.
