A row of six vintage mid-century red fabric and metal tip-up theatre seats, removed from Plymouth Athenaeum. The units are mounted on a white-painted metal frame constructed from a combination of tubular and angle iron, designed for floor mounting. The seat pads and backrests are upholstered in a red textured woven fabric. The row is finished at each end and between seats with light hardwood supports and armrests, likely beech, featuring a clear honey-toned varnish. Each seat incorporates a gravity-fed or spring-assisted tip-up mechanism. The undersides of the seats are constructed from plywood panels.There are more sets available.
