Lot 861: A Pair of White-Painted Wooden Spindle-Back Bar Stools
A pair of white-painted wooden spindle-back bar stools, featuring a vernacular cottage style. Each stool is constructed with a solid D-shaped seat supported by four turned legs. The legs are connected by several spindle stretchers, including a prominent curved front footrest. The backs are formed by a curved top rail and vertical spindles, flanking a central decorative splat with symmetrical scroll-like fretwork cutouts in the fiddleback fashion. The stools are assembled using traditional dowel joinery and are finished with a white paint that has been heavily distressed to reveal the underlying timber. No maker’s marks, stamps, or labels are visible on the items.
Large-scale furniture items; exact dimensions are not provided.
