Lot 885: A Georgian Style Mahogany Pedestal Desk
A mahogany pedestal desk in the Georgian style. The rectangular top features a recessed area for an insert, currently vacant. The frieze contains three drawers: a wide central drawer with two handles and two smaller flanking drawers with single handles. Each frieze drawer is fitted with a central brass-lined keyhole. The desk is supported by two pedestals, each containing three drawers, creating a central kneehole. The drawer fronts are constructed from mahogany and fitted with brass swan-neck handles on shaped decorative backplates. The pedestals rest on bracket feet. No maker marks, labels, or signatures are visible on the exterior of the piece.
