Lot 89: A Vintage Hercules Steel Step-through Bicycle
A vintage Hercules steel step-through bicycle, finished in a red and white colour scheme. The open-frame construction features painted white metal front and rear mudguards and a white vinyl saddle. The single-speed drivetrain is protected by a partial chain guard and equipped with cable-operated rim caliper brakes. Period accessories include a front-mounted black vinyl bag, a black rear saddlebag with red piping, and a chrome-finished bell. A circular decal on the top tube features a red stylized letter H in the centre, bordered by the printed text THE HERCULES CYCLE & MOTOR CO. LTD. BIRMINGHAM ENGLAND. The bicycle is further fitted with an Ever Ready brand battery-operated front headlight and a matching rear lamp.
