Lot 917: A Victorian mahogany two drawer writing table
A Victorian writing table constructed from mahogany. The rectangular top features a dark inset surface, possibly leather or baize, surrounded by a mahogany border. The frieze contains two drawers, each decorated with moulded rectangular panels and fitted with a pair of turned wooden knobs and a central circular brass-lined keyhole. The table is supported by four turned and tapered legs, each terminating in a brass caster. No maker’s marks, labels, or signatures are visible on the exterior of the piece.
