Lot 964: A Louis XV Style White Painted and Upholstered Heart-Back Side Chair
This side chair is designed in the Louis XV style and features a white painted wooden frame. The backrest is composed of a heart-shaped upholstered panel set within a moulded frame, surmounted by a carved shell and scroll cresting. Two scrolled uprights connect the back to the seat. The padded seat and back panel are upholstered in a light-coloured woven textile. The chair is supported by four cabriole legs, each with carved foliate motifs at the knees and terminating in scrolled feet. There are no maker names, stamps, or labels visible on the frame or upholstery.
