Lot 991: A Nineteenth Century Rustic Pine Blanket Trunk
A rustic storage chest of plank construction made from solid pine. The rectangular box features a four-board hinged lid secured by internal metal strap hinges. The front elevation is fitted with an iron lock plate featuring a single keyhole. The interior is partially lined with vintage decorative wallpaper displaying two distinct motifs: a floral holly-and-berry pattern and a festive design of Christmas trees decorated with bells and gifts. The chest contains a variety of personal ephemera, including colour photographs, a rugby programme, and printed papers.
