Lot 607: A Collection of Mixed World Coins
Sold for: £55
A collection of mixed world coins in an unsorted bulk lot, comprising a diverse range of international denominations, materials, and origins. The group includes several US coins, including quarters and nickels, alongside UK decimal and pre-decimal currency. European coinage is well-represented by 1 and 2 Euro pieces and cent denominations, as well as various coins from individual nations such as a Hungarian 100 Forint with a bimetallic composition. Asian currency is also present, featuring Japanese 100 and 50 Yen pieces and South Korean Won. The coins are predominantly struck in cupro-nickel, bronze, and brass alloys, with various bimetallic issues. Visible markings include Japanese characters on Yen denominations and the distinct ‘100’ and ’50’ denominations on Japanese and South Korean pieces respectively. One coin is a US quarter dollar with the standard eagle reverse design. The lot contains a large volume of loose, circulated coinage from multiple geographical regions.
