Lot 969: A Mid-Century Oak and Beech Drop-Leaf Dining Table
Sold for: £5
A mid-century modern dining table featuring a functional drop-leaf design, constructed with a quarter-sawn oak veneered top and solid wood supports. The table top is composed of multiple joined sections, exhibiting a prominent medullary ray or ‘tiger’ flake grain pattern throughout the light-coloured oak veneer. The edges are finished with a rounded profile. The base consists of four round, tapered legs in a contrasting darker beech or teak-toned finish, set at an outward angle in a Scandinavian-inspired fashion. The table is equipped with two hinged drop leaves, allowing the surface to be adjusted from a narrow console to a full oval or circular dining area. No maker’s marks, signatures, or branding are visible on the surfaces shown.
Large-scale furniture items; exact dimensions are not provided.
