A collection of Chinese copper-alloy cash (wen) coins, predominantly from the Qing Dynasty. The group includes several coins bearing the reign marks of the Qianlong Emperor (reigned 1735–1796) featuring the obverse characters 乾隆通寶 (Qianlong Tongbao) and the Jiaqing Emperor (reigned 1796–1820) with 嘉慶通寶 (Jiaqing Tongbao). Each coin is of traditional circular cast construction with a square central perforation. The reverse faces are decorated with Manchu script, typically identifying the mints of the Board of Revenue and the Board of Works. The coins are presented in a rectangular wooden trinket box with a hinged lid. The box is decorated with hand-painted floral and geometric motifs in red, yellow, and green, further enhanced by pyrographic (wood-burned) detailing along the borders and central design. The interior is unfinished natural wood.
