A pair of antique cast iron rain hoppers, typically utilised in Victorian or early 20th-century architectural drainage systems. Each hopper is of cast construction with a flared, multi-stepped octagonal profile. One example remains largely complete, featuring an integral upper pipe section flanked by two rounded mounting lugs with pre-drilled holes for wall fixing. The second hopper is the base section only and lacks the upper pipe collar. Both pieces are finished in a combination of aged surface treatments; the more complete hopper retains heavily weathered white paint showing significant alligatoring, while the other displays remnants of green and white pigment over a deeply oxidised surface. There are no visible maker’s marks, foundry names, or legible inscriptions on the exterior of either piece.
