A collection of Wedgwood bone china tea and dinner wares in the Kutani Crane pattern. The service is decorated with a polychrome transfer-printed design featuring a crane amongst floral motifs, including peonies and chrysanthemums, finished with hand-applied gilded highlights to the rims. The group comprises a variety of forms including large circular dinner plates, side plates, shallow soup or dessert bowls, a lidded teapot, a sauce boat, and several shell-shaped nut or butter dishes. The set also includes tea cups, saucers, and a small footed urn-shaped vessel with twin handles. The base of the shell dish bears a printed black mark featuring an urn symbol and the text ‘WEDGWOOD®’, ‘Bone China’, ‘MADE IN ENGLAND’, ‘KUTANI’, and ‘CRANE’, alongside a small hand-painted brown character. Similar printed backstamps are visible on the foot of the cups and saucers.
