A vintage plaster table lamp designed in the Chinoiserie fashion. The monochrome base is cast as a figurative sculpture of a fisherman dressed in traditional Chinese attire, including a conical hat and flowing robes. The figure is depicted holding a landed fish and a fishing rod, with a large decorative fan or sunshade positioned behind his head. The structural support for the lighting fixture is integrated into the sculpture as a stylized upright element. The piece is finished in an off-white or ivory-coloured paint. The lamp is fitted with a white plastic-coated electrical flex and a standard bayonet cap (BC) bulb holder. There are no visible maker’s marks, signatures, or branding on the plaster body or the base.
