A ceramic ewer and basin set and a Santon folk art doll. The ceramic wash set features a large, globular ewer and a wide, matching basin, both decorated with a printed pastoral scene depicting figures on horseback against a pale blue and white sky. The exterior of the basin is further embellished with sprigs of purple floral decoration, possibly hydrangeas or lilacs, on a cream-coloured ground. A smaller, matching circular ceramic dish with a blue rim is also included. The Provencal-style Santon doll depicts an elderly woman in traditional provincial attire, featuring a hand-painted terracotta or composite face, a lace-trimmed bonnet, a floral shawl, and a green skirt with yellow floral motifs. She is depicted holding a set of miniature metal scales with two suspended pans. No maker’s marks or signatures were visible on the ceramic bases or the doll during inspection.
