Lot 849: A Pair of Vintage Country Style Pine Three Drawer Nightstands

This auction ended on 31 October 2026.

Start price: £15

Estimated price: £15 - £20

Buyer's Premium: 20%

A pair of vintage pine three-drawer nightstands in a country style, typical of late 20th-century British furniture production. Each chest is constructed from solid pine with visible knots throughout the grain. The units feature differing base designs: one is fitted with a protruding plinth and turned bun feet, while the other features a flush-to-floor plinth base. The drawers are constructed with machine-cut dovetail joints at the front corners, which join the pine drawer fronts to lighter-coloured soft timber sides. The drawer bottoms are housed in grooves and appear to be finished in a thin plywood or hardboard. Each drawer is fitted with a single turned wooden knob handle. The wood is finished with a tinted lacquer or wax. No maker marks, stamps, or labels are present on the furniture.

Large-scale furniture items; exact dimensions are not provided.
