Lot 862: An Edwardian Mahogany and Marquetry Inlaid Side Chair
Not sold
An Edwardian side chair constructed from mahogany, featuring neoclassical design elements. The backrest is designed with a curved top rail and vertical side supports, incorporating a central splat with an inset hexagonal marquetry panel. This boxwood or fruitwood panel depicts a classical urn with foliate swags. The frame is further embellished with boxwood stringing to the uprights and supports. The chair is upholstered to the seat and top rail in a textured, woven burgundy fabric finished with a patterned braid trim. The frame is supported by square tapered legs terminating in spade feet, joined by a low H-stretcher. The back rail bears a white string tag and a small white circular adhesive label, neither of which identify a manufacturer.
Large-scale furniture items; exact dimensions are not provided.
