A black lacquered and velvet upholstered open armchair, designed in the Louis XV fashion with Rococo characteristics. The wooden frame is finished in a heavy black lacquer and features a cartouche-shaped backrest with a carved foliate cresting. The armchair is supported by cabriole legs with decorative carvings at the knees, terminating in scrolled feet. The seat, back, and arm pads are upholstered in a black plush velvet fabric, with the backrest featuring deep button-tufting. A continuous line of brass-toned decorative upholstery tacks secures the fabric to the frame. The arms are scrolled with acanthus leaf carvings at the hand grips.
