A vintage mid-20th century rocking horse of metal and plastic construction. The toy features a red-painted tubular metal frame that serves both as the rocking base and a protective safety rail around the seat. A blue sheet metal platform and saddle-shaped seat are mounted within the frame; the platform is decorated with white painted motifs of bare footprints. The horse’s head is fashioned from moulded white plastic with stylized mane detailing and red painted accents to the ears and muzzle. It is fitted with wooden handle grips, one of which appears to be a black replacement or is missing its original wooden sleeve. The toy retains several retail and auction labels, including a yellow adhesive label on the seat which reads 1960’S CHILDS RETRO ROCKING HORSE RED £25.00 and a small white label on the head reading 99 L 5.
