Lot 819: A Mid-Century Hardwood and Woven Cord Low Bench
A mid-century hardwood and woven cord low bench in a Scandinavian-influenced style. The frame is constructed from a light-toned hardwood, possibly beech, with a warm-toned finish, featuring rectangular-profile legs joined by low-set side stretchers for structural stability. The design is characterised by exposed, rounded finials at the four corners of the seat frame. The rectangular seat is upholstered with woven cord, likely Danish paper cord, in a traditional V-shaped twill weave pattern. The underside of the frame shows typical mid-20th-century joinery with the cord wrapped around the primary seat rails. No manufacturer markings or country of origin labels are visible on the exposed surfaces of the timber.
