Lot 765: An Edwardian Mahogany and Inlaid Extending Dining Table in the Sheraton Revival Style
An Edwardian mahogany extending dining table in the Sheraton Revival style. The rectangular top features canted corners and a moulded edge, decorated with boxwood stringing and line inlay. The top is split at the centre to accommodate extension leaves. The table is raised on four square-tapered legs, each decorated with boxwood stringing and rectangular inlaid panels. The legs are joined by a low-set rectangular mahogany undertier and terminate in brass cup casters. No maker marks, characters, or symbols are visible on the item.
Condition report:
The table is in good structural condition. The finish shows signs of age and regular use, including surface scratches, minor scuffs to the edges, and some fading and blooming to the mahogany top. The central join of the top is slightly uneven. No extension leaves are included with this lot.
