Lot 910: Two cabinets including an early 20th-century oak bureau-bookcase and a mirrored vanity cabinet
This lot comprises two separate furniture items. The first is an early 20th-century oak side cabinet of bureau-bookcase form. It features a central fall-front bureau section decorated with a carved foliate frieze, situated above a single long drawer. This central section is flanked by two tall cupboards, each fitted with leaded glass panels displaying a central diamond and geometric line motif. The cabinet is of single-piece construction and is fitted with inset metal lock plates. The second item is a contemporary wall-mounted or tabletop vanity cabinet constructed from dark-stained wood. It features a single door with a mirrored glass panel and a simple circular wooden pull knob. No maker’s marks or labels are visible on either piece.
Condition report:
The oak cabinet shows significant signs of wear and age, including substantial loss and blooming to the varnish finish on the top surface and the fall-front. The mirrored cabinet appears to be in generally good condition with minor surface wear consistent with use.
