Lot 974: A Collection of ten Framed Photographs, Prints, and Textile Artworks
A collection of ten framed wall hangings comprising various media, dating from the late 20th century to the contemporary period. The lot includes five botanical and floral photographs, featuring orchid species, a purple allium, and a red flowering plant, presented in wood-effect and metallic-toned frames with white and dark mounts. A wildlife study of a Red Admiral butterfly on a sprig of foliage is signed J. Wright in the lower right-hand corner, housed in an ornate gold-toned frame with a dark green mount. The collection also features a zardozi-style textile depiction of the Taj Mahal in silver-toned metallic thread on a black velvet ground, set in a mahogany-toned frame with a gold-toned inner lip. The items are generally in good contemporary condition with minor wear to the frames consistent with age and use. One orchid photograph, depicting yellow and purple flowers, has a severely damaged glazing with loose glass shards visible inside the mount.
