Lot 977: ERM, An Assortment of Landscapes, Maritime Scenes, and Railway Artworks (Signed)
An assortment of artworks in various media, including oil or acrylic paintings, a pencil drawing, prints, and a wooden relief. The collection features several paintings on canvas and board depicting rural English scenes such as stone bridges, river landscapes, and cottages, many of which bear a stylized monogram ERM and dates including 2017 and 2018. A pencil drawing on paper depicts a fishing vessel in a harbour, signed ERM OCT 82. The group includes a 3D wooden relief of the LNER 4472 Flying Scotsman locomotive and two framed colour prints of steam locomotives titled Country Connection and Sunday Working. Also present is a framed needlework piece depicting the heraldic coats of arms for the City of Bristol and the City of London, featuring the transcribed Latin mottoes VIRTUTE ET INDUSTRIA and DOMINE DIRIGE NOS. The artworks are presented in a variety of frames, including light oak-effect, gilt-edged wood, and white-painted styles.
Condition report:
The collection is in generally good condition. Minor surface wear and scuffing are visible on some frames, consistent with age and handling. The paintings, drawing, and prints appear well-preserved within their frames. The wooden relief and needlework show no significant signs of damage or deterioration.
