Lot 258: An Assortment of Ceramic Tableware and Planters Including Seltmann Weiden and Rayware
An assortment of ceramic tableware and decorative items of porcelain and earthenware construction. The collection includes several white-glazed porcelain cups bearing the printed mark of Seltmann Weiden, Bavaria, W. Germany, featuring fluted lower bodies and gilt rims. The W. Germany designation indicates a manufacture date prior to 1990. Also included are fine china cups and saucers with the Rayware For Today printed mark, decorated with gilt rims. The lot further comprises a lidded sugar bowl and a matching cream jug, both featuring grey transfer-printed floral motifs and silver-tone rims. Utility and decorative pieces include a rectangular white-glazed ceramic dish and three large cylindrical planters. The planters consist of one example in a dark green glaze with a relief-moulded diamond quilted texture, one in a solid beige matte finish, and one in an off-white glaze.
