Lot 981: A Child's Painted Wooden Double School Desk and a Pair of Matching Chairs
A child-sized double school desk of solid wood construction, accompanied by a matching pair of chairs. The desk is designed in a traditional schoolhouse style, featuring two independent lift-up lids that provide access to individual storage compartments. The desk is supported by four simple square legs. The two chairs have slightly curved slat backrests and square legs. The entire set is finished in a lavender-coloured paint. The chair backrests incorporate two contrasting natural wood slats decorated with stencilled white star motifs. One chair seat displays a white geometric border design in the corners. A handwritten adhesive label is attached to the side of the desk which reads SCHOOL DESK / CHAIRS + MISC SMALL FURNITURE 13. An auction label from Liskeard Auction Rooms is also present on one leg.
