Lot 586: Two Victorian brass rim locks and an iron strike plate
This lot comprises two Victorian surface-mounted rim locks and a single separate iron strike plate. The locks feature rectangular cast brass outer cases over wrought iron backplates. One lock retains its small brass latch lever. The design includes a circular bushing for a door knob spindle and a standard skeleton keyhole. The separate iron strike plate is L-shaped and features two screw holes and a central keyhole aperture. These items are characteristic of 19th-century British domestic hardware. There appear to be stamped marks on the iron backplates, but they are obscured by heavy corrosion and remain illegible.
