Lot 589: Giuseppe Armani Florence Porcelain Figurine of a Traveling Clown
A cold-cast porcelain figurine of a tramp-style clown by Giuseppe Armani for Florence Sculture d’Arte, Italy. The figure is depicted in a jaunty pose wearing a patched purple hat, a pale yellow jacket with white polka dots over a ruffled collar and spotted scarf, and green and cream striped trousers with knee patches. The clown carries a drum over one shoulder with a white dove perched on top, a large swirl lollipop in the left hand, and a wooden flute in the right. The figure is mounted on a circular cream-coloured base. Marked with the script signature Armani and incised characters reading © 1994 Florence, alongside a blue crowned N Capodimonte-style mark. A handwritten lot tag reading 950b is attached to the base.
