Lot 607: An Assortment of British Ceramics and Glassware including Keeling and Co Losol Ware and Newport Pottery
A collection of various mid-20th-century ceramic and glass items, primarily of British manufacture. The assortment includes a large earthenware chamber pot by Keeling and Co Ltd of Burslem, produced under the Losol Ware brand in the Lawford pattern. This piece features a polychrome transfer-printed design of roses and a gilt rim, with the base bearing the factory mark and hand-painted pattern numbers 3/4569. A second large ceramic chamber pot is decorated with a blue and green floral transfer pattern.
The collection includes multiple small vitrified pottery bowls from Newport Pottery Co Ltd, Burslem. The bases show maker’s marks identifying the Singapore pattern and other transfer-printed border designs. Further ceramic items include a three-piece condiment set comprising a salt shaker, pepper shaker, and lidded mustard pot finished in a pale green glaze, presented on a coordinating grey boat-shaped tray. There is also a small relief-molded souvenir pottery mug or miniature stein depicting a tavern scene, inscribed with the name Ostende at the rim.
The glassware consists of two pieces of amber-coloured pressed glass: a small faceted creamer or jug and a square-form lidded dish.
