Lot 646: Two Wooden Decorative Items comprising a Carved Southeast Asian Stand and a Small Iron-Bound Chest
This lot comprises two distinct wooden items. The first is a carved decorative stand of Southeast Asian origin. It features a rectangular base bordered by a carved lotus petal motif, with two small figures in seated meditative poses flanking a central bulbous, pierced element. This central section features vertical ribbing and panels containing indistinct carved characters. The top section consists of a flat rail supporting three conical finials. The second item is a small rustic wooden chest of rectangular form with a hinged lid. It is constructed from heavy, dark-toned wood and features hand-forged iron strap hinges and a central hasp. The chest is raised on four block feet and retains a paper lot label from Liskeard Auction Rooms numbered 646.
