Lot 847: A Collection of Decorative Ceramic and Household Items to include a J & G Morten Novelty Teapot
This lot comprises an assortment of ceramic and decorative household objects. Featured is a novelty glazed earthenware teapot designed by Jennie and Gary Morten for The Tea Council Collection (1988), modelled in the form of a circular clock face with Roman numerals and the relief-moulded inscription TEA FOR TWO, finished in a deep brown Rockingham-style glaze. The collection also includes several small ceramic succulent planters, including a group shaped as owls with textured feather detailing and pastel glazes. Other ceramic items consist of a large white earthenware pot with a relief-moulded honeycomb pattern and a splatter-decorated cream pot. Decorative pieces include a dark-finished leaf-form sculpture on a square black plinth and a set of circular coasters decorated with multicoloured resin beads in a wire storage rack. Two wooden items are present: a turned handle and a block with mortise-and-tenon joinery. Several items bear white adhesive labels marked 754.
