Lot 279: A Collection of Royal Commemorative Ceramics, Glassware, and Decorative Household Items
A group of ceramic mugs comprising six pieces, including four examples commemorating the 1981 marriage of Prince Charles and Lady Diana Spencer with colour portraits and floral borders, one yellow-glazed mug with a black-and-white portrait of HRH Prince Charles, and one white mug with a similar portrait and wedding text. One additional mug features a red transfer-printed scene. The glassware includes a large clear glass display bottle with embossed lettering for Bell’s Scotch Whisky, alongside two small clear glass carafes of simple bulbous form. Decorative items consist of an oval-framed reproduction print of Rembrandt van Rijn’s 1640 self-portrait, a ceramic Pierrot figurine in a dynamic pose mounted on a book-style base, a square metal plaque with an embossed relief of a ruined tower, and a white-painted rectangular picture frame with a textured insert.
