Buyer's Premium:

A trio of French Breton-style hand-painted glazed earthenware (faience) items by Claude Boudin. The group consists of a square dish with a scalloped rim and two handled bowls, known as porringers or lug bowls. Each piece is decorated with traditional Breton folk art figures in a palette of blue, red, yellow, and green. The square dish features a central couple in regional costume within a landscape, surrounded by a border of blue floral sprigs. The two porringers feature folk figures and a blue sponged or stippled finish to the rims and handles. One larger porringer is hand-inscribed with the name Christopher in black script to the exterior, while the smaller porringer is inscribed Billy. The underside of the larger bowl bears a black stamped mark reading: Fait main par Claude BOUDIN FRANCE AU VIEUX ROUET PORT LOUIS.
