Lot 653: An Assortment of Five Various Stools
An assortment of five various stools of diverse styles and constructions. The collection includes a square stool in the Victorian style featuring dark-stained bobbin-turned legs and stretchers, with a seat upholstered in a white fabric printed with a bird and floral pattern in shades of blue, orange, and yellow. Also included is a wooden stool with simple square-section legs and stretchers featuring a seat of woven fabric webbing in a geometric pattern of brown, tan, and mauve tones. A third square stool is constructed with a dark-stained wood frame and a woven natural-coloured cord seat in a basketweave pattern. The lot also contains a low utility stool with a solid light-wood square seat featuring a central rectangular hand-hole, supported on a black-painted tubular metal frame. The final item is a tall kitchen or bar-height stool with a circular solid pine top and base of four turned legs joined by two tiers of stretchers. Marks include auction room labels for Liskeard Auction Rooms, Lot 653, and several stools feature pink circular stickers with the handwritten number 32.
