Lot 700: A Substantial Piece of Natural Form Bog Oak
A large specimen of natural form bog oak, exhibiting gnarled and heavily weathered surfaces. Bog oak is wood that has been preserved in anaerobic conditions within peat bogs over centuries, resulting in its characteristic dark, textured appearance and silvered surface. This piece features deep organic fissures and undulating grain patterns throughout. It is accompanied by a handwritten index card reading 2393, Bog Oak, and Reserve £20, as well as a printed adhesive label for Liskeard Auction Rooms, lot number 700.
