Lot 432: A Girl Guides Association Ceremonial Union Flag Standard on Pole by Collinsons London
A mid-20th century ceremonial Union Flag (Union Jack) standard belonging to the Girl Guides Association. The flag is of multi-piece stitched construction and is mounted to a two-section wooden parade pole. The pole features a black-painted metal joining sleeve and a lot sticker for Liskeard Auction Rooms. The set is topped with a cast brass finial in the form of the Girl Guides trefoil emblem, featuring a cut-out five-pointed star in the left lobe and relief-moulded letters G and G in the upper and right lobes. The base of the trefoil is supported by a scroll-form bracket. The reverse of the finial bears a rectangular maker’s stamp for Collinsons London.
Dimensions not provided; the flag appears to be of standard ceremonial size.
