Lot 483: Large cut lead crystal tapered vase
A large and heavy lead crystal vase of tapered conical form. The exterior is decorated with an intricate hand-cut pattern featuring large vesica panels. These panels contain various motifs including fine cross-hatched hobnail diamond fields, radial fans, and starburst or pinwheel designs. The vase has a plain polished rim and is finished with a traditional radial star-cut base. The glass exhibits high clarity with deep cutting and sharp edges. This style of cutting is characteristic of mid to late 20th-century European crystal manufacture. There are no maker’s marks or signatures visible on the body or base; an adhesive auction lot label is present.
