Lot 526: A Williamsburg Model 1700 Cast Iron Electric Food Warmer by Lindavap Ltd
A mid-20th-century electric food warmer or warming trivet manufactured by Lindavap Ltd of Windsor, Ontario, Canada, under the Williamsburg brand. The unit features a decorative cast iron frame with ornate scrollwork and rose motifs finished in black. At the centre is a circular, flat heating element with a silver-toned metal surface. The frame is supported by three integrated, cylindrical cast iron legs. A manufacturer label is affixed to the underside of the central housing and reads: Williamsburg Food Warmer, 120 Volt 45 Watts, C.S.A. App. No. 11356, Model – 1700, Lindavap Ltd., Windsor, Ont. Pend. Pat. U.S.A. The label also states: It does not cover a cord set and Covers the appliance only. The item is fitted with a black and tan braided fabric-wrapped power cord ending in a two-prong North American style plug.
