Lot 561: An Assortment of Decorative Ceramics Including a Crane Pattern Tea Service and Shamrock Demitasse Set
A collection of decorative porcelain and earthenware tableware. The group includes a partial porcelain tea or coffee service featuring a motif of black and white cranes with red crests in flight, accented with gold-toned highlights, in the style of Noritake. This service includes a tall lidded pot, a group of cups with matching saucers, and an assortment of side plates. Also present is a trio of demitasse cups and a group of matching saucers decorated with green shamrock sprigs and arched gold-toned handles, in the style of Belleek. The collection features a large octagonal earthenware serving basin decorated with a hand-coloured floral spray including tulips and narcissus, set within a cobalt blue and orange geometric border in an Imari-influenced style. Additional items include a group of dessert plates with scalloped rims and red floral transfer-printed decoration, a service plate with a wide gold filigree border, an earthenware plate with a fluted rim and hand-coloured floral sprigs, a plain white plate with a central purple floral motif, and a small lobed dish depicting an Oriental-style scene with figures.
