Buyer's Premium:

A late 19th or early 20th-century commode armchair constructed from a dark-stained hardwood, possibly mahogany or beech. The chair features a curved, wrap-around backrest that transitions into the armrests, and a box-form base supported by square-section legs. Both the back and the seat are upholstered in a textured green fabric with a repeating swirl pattern, secured to the frame with decorative brass-headed upholstery tacks. The seat is hinged and lifts to reveal a circular aperture designed for a chamber pot, which is absent. The interior reveals a flame-grained wood finish on the underside of the lid and a metal support ring within the cutout. A contemporary auction house lot sticker for Liskeard Auction Rooms, Lot 702, is present on the right arm.
