Lot 780: An Early 20th Century Oak Sutherland Gateleg Table
An early 20th-century stained oak Sutherland-style gateleg side table, likely of British manufacture. The table top consists of a narrow fixed central section flanked by two deep drop-leaves with rounded corners, which when raised form a larger rectangular surface. The base is constructed with two upright side panels featuring decorative geometric pierced cut-outs showing an Arts and Crafts influence. It is supported by two gateleg swing-out mechanisms with slim square-section legs, with the entire piece standing on four small metal castors. A modern auction house label from Liskeard Auction Rooms is present on the underside of the central section.
